The NEET Counselling 2024 process is set to commence on August 14, 2024, with the registration process for Round 1. As per the notification released, there will be four rounds of NEET counselling 2024, scheduled till October 30, 2024, for Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences admission.

About Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences

Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Bangalore was established in the year 1980 by the Vokkaligara Sangha. Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Karnataka, and is approved by the National Medical Committee (NMC). KIMS is recognised by The Medical Council of India/ National Medical Commission (MCI/NMC) for running MBBS courses from 1980- 81 and also for running postgraduate degree/ diploma courses in various disciplines from 1991- 91.

Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences has been ranked no. 24 among the 275+ medical colleges in India by The MINT, The Wall Street Journal. KIMS Bangalore is also recognised by The General Medical Council, the World Health Organisation, and The Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists. KIMS has two campuses. The hospitals and clinical departments are on the VV Puram campus and the pre-clinical and para-clinical departments are on the Banashankari campus. 

Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences offers UG and PG programmes. KIMS Bangalore courses include an M.B.B.S. course as part of its undergraduate program, as well as MD, MS, and Diploma courses in a variety of specializations as part of its postgraduate program.

Candidates must have completed PUC/10+2 with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or a bachelor's degree in medical sciences with a minimum of 50% overall to be eligible for admission to the MBBS programme. KIMS admission is based on the rank secured in COMEDK. 

The 14-acre campus of KIMS  has everything a student will need for their overall development. The campus is equipped with a central library, lecture halls, and magnificent residential facilities. The classrooms are furnished with LCD projectors. The institute offers a well-furnished infrastructure with modern facilities. KIMS Bangalore admission is totally based on the entrance examination like NEET/ COMEDK UGET/ KCET as well as 10+2 marks with 50% 

MBBS / Post graduate, Under graduate /M.B.B.S COURSE

  • Pre-university education or 10+2 from any recognised Boards are requirements for applicants.
  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% of the total points awarded for all Science topics taken at the qualifying test and NEET.
  • The applicant must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admissions year.

Foreign students who want to enrol should provide:

  • A certificate of no objection from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi.
  • A Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore, eligibility certificate Student visa.
  • A certificate of residence.
  • The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test serves as the basis for selection (NEET).

MD/MS Postgraduate degree Eligibility

  • Candidates must have completed the MBBS degree examination at a recognised Medical College associated with any MCI-accredited university.
  • Candidates must have completed one year of Compulsory Rotating Internship in an MCI-approved academic institution.
  • Candidates must have their MBBS degree registered with the relevant State Medical Council.
  • Candidates for postgraduate degree programmes will be chosen on the basis of their performance in the PG NEET test.

NEET UG 2020 counselling will most likely take place in August, and the candidates who have cleared the NEET-UG 2020 exam as per the cutoff specified by NTA are eligible to participate in the counselling process. NTA does not conduct the NEET UG counselling, and it is the responsibility of the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) to conduct the NEET UG 2020 counselling.
